2008, the High Countrys Fourth Annual GLBTIQA event, Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday, June 13, 14, and 15. In keeping with the
national Pride theme, Live, Love, Be, we invite
everyone to help us fulfill our local mission to celebrate,

Sexual Health and Being: Personal Coming Out Stories
at the Watauga Public Library from 1pm to 4pm, and as in years
past, there will be a DJ dance with a cash bar from 9pm until
1am Saturday night at the Broyhill. Beginning at noon, Sundays
event at Junaluska Park in Boone, includes a family picnic and
cookout hosted by HCUCC, softball games, a Really, Really
Free Market, and plenty of spontaneous festive family fun.
With proceeds
from Boone Pride 2008, we will continue to fund a scholarship
for a deserving area student, our web site, pride events, community
projects, and maintain our on-going commitment to provide GLBTIQ
literature to public libraries.

Welcome
to the website of Boone Pride, producers Boone's only Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Festival and Celebration! Pride becomes
more meaningful when shared, and when enjoyed in the company of others.
Boone PRIDE IS a place where our LGBTIQ community can join together
in a festive, celebratory space.
Inclusiveness and acceptance are the real gifts that we give to one
another when we participate. Through our participation, we share a part
of ourselves. As the spirit of cooperation reaches new heights and as
groups of individuals create an enormous "home team," where teamwork
truly takes center stage, It is important to remember that the goal
that we pursue. It is the victory of human acceptance and understanding
over the boundaries of race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.
The intrinsic value
that we obtain as a result of being an active participant in this celebration
of community is priceless.
